Roast Beef

Roast Beef
Your favorite roast beef is even more delicious and nutritious when cooked in a slow cooker. Here we present you one of the most popular recipes of cooking roast beef in the slow cooker which you can very well enjoy with your family. Lets start with the preparation of roast beef with the slow cooker.

For Roast Beef, you require the following ingredients:

2-1/2 lb boneless beef chuck pot roast
1 tablespoon of cooking oil
1 lb medium potatoes
1lb Carrots
3 onions finely chopped
3/4 cup of water
11/2-tablespoon sauce
2 teaspoons of instant beef granules
1 teaspoon of dried basil or oregano, crushed
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper as per taste

The preparation is simple for Roast Beef. Follow the simple steps mentioned below:

To start with roast beef, you need to trim the fat from roast. Now cut the meat into pieces that can fit the slow cooker. Take a large skillet and brown meat on all sides in hot oil. Drain off unnecessary fat. Also remove a strip of peel from the center of each potato, or peel and quarter each medium one. Keep the potatoes, carrots or parsnips, with onions in the slow cooker. Now place the meat over vegetables.

Similarly, take a small bowl and add the 3/4 cup water, sauce, instant beef granules, and basil. Now pour this mixture over the meat and vegetables. After covering the crockpot, set it low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours if you are in hurry.

After the cooking is done, you can put meat and vegetables on a serving platter. Cover the meat so that it can be warm. Now we will turn towards the gravy. For preparation of the gravy, pour cooking juices into a measuring cup. Measure 1-1/2 cups juices an add water if necessary. Put it into a saucepan and add cold water and flour. Slowly stir into juices in saucepan. Cook this mixture and keep stirring until thickened and bubbly.
